After the fire and flood, you can make a difference in The Canyon:

The Canyon Recovery and Emergency Fund

The Canyon Alliance has launched a new fund that will provide grants for a range of recovery and emergency projects in the aftermath of the recent Palisades Fire and flooding.

Projects will fall under the broad categories of recovery, relief and resilience. They may include repopulation of the Canyon and support for impacted businesses; relief for those displaced or disadvantaged by the fire and flooding; and efforts for greater resilience against future disasters such as fire, flood, and earthquake.

Specific initiatives may include: a central communications and information network for emergencies; fire prevention efforts such as a fire brigade and use of non-combustible materials; public space remediation and repair such as brush removal and mud clearance.

Funding requests may come from neighborhood organizations or from the Alliance itself. Requests may be for full funding, kickstart funding, partial funding or bridge funding.

Your donation will allow the Canyon Alliance to act quickly and decisively in this post-fire period, and respond to unexpected emergencies.

The Canyon Alliance is an Initiative of the Santa Monica Canyon Civic Association (SMCCA). SMCCA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The first $50 of your contribution will cover your annual membership in SMCCA and support its ongoing programs such as beach tunnel cleaning and representation to elected officials . Contributions are tax-deductible (Tax ID 95-4888998)
