MYLA311 App Allows Residents to Report Issues to City

If you need to report graffiti, a pothole, or other public property issue, the new MyLA311 phone app is designed to ease the process.

The app allows residents to type in a word, such as graffiti or pothole, in its New Request field, and then create a service order that goes to the city department that handles the issue.

Boca resident Sharon Kilbride has been using the app regularly to report both graffiti in the beach tunnels and other issues she encounters in the Canyon.

“You can attach pictures when you make the graffiti request,” Kilbride said. “We have nonstop graffiti problems in both of our pedestrian tunnels, so I probably use it once every two weeks. The City contractor usually responds within two to three days on this issue, so it’s really a great tool for me.”

In addition, she has reported damaged street signs, which are typically replaced within a week or two.

Residents can also phone 311 to address issues, but the app and website are designed to be faster and more convenient to use. The new app and webpage replaces an outdated version, and it was released on Mar. 28.
