Tree Trimmings Dumped in Flood Channels

Some residents have noticed gardeners dumping tree trimmings or other plant debris in the flood channels, Boca resident Sharon Kilbride said.

Unfortunately, L.A. County Flood Control is then tasked with fishing the foliage out of the channel for proper disposal.

“It’s rare that I see this happening but because of everybody doing remediation, I think a lot of people are taking extra foliage out and doing some tree trimming,” Kilbride said.

Branches and trimmings can be put in green trash bins for removal or taken to specific facilities. For more information about the city’s sanitation and green waste program, visit https://tinyurl.com/42jpx8u4.

Foliage dropped into the channel near Canyon Elementary.
